Bitcoin Logs One of Its Worst Februaries on Record
-

Despite the weekend rebound, Bitcoin has just closed its third-worst February in history. The asset fell nearly 15% over the month, marking only the fourth February since 2013 to finish in negative territory. Historical data from CoinGlass shows that BTC’s worst February occurred in 2014 with a 31% drop, followed by a 17.4% decline in 2025.
The broader picture remains challenging. Bitcoin is currently on track for its weakest first quarter performance since 2018, down almost 23% since the start of the year. While short-term rallies continue to spark optimism, the leading cryptocurrency still faces macro uncertainty and persistent volatility as it attempts to reclaim stronger bullish momentum.
