Hogwarts Legacy 2 Could Arrive in 2027–2028, Warner Bros. Hints

A senior executive at Warner Bros. Discovery may have just revealed the likely release window for Hogwarts Legacy 2. During a recent earnings call, JB Perrette, President of Global Streaming and Games, described 2025 as a “reset year,” adding that “the real fruits will start coming in ’27, ’28 when we return to some of our biggest franchises.” While no titles were officially named, the timing strongly aligns with a potential sequel to Hogwarts Legacy — especially considering reports that development began no later than mid-2024.
The 2023 original, developed by Avalanche Software, became one of the company’s biggest recent gaming successes. Warner Bros. has since emphasized focusing on core franchises such as Harry Potter, DC, Mortal Kombat, and Game of Thrones. With 2026 expected to be a lighter release year, 2027–2028 is shaping up to be the company’s next major franchise cycle — and Hogwarts Legacy 2 appears well-positioned to lead it.
