According to the MFSA registry, Gate Technology is now authorized to provide regulated account and transaction services under Malta’s Financial Institutions Act.

The move follows a similar step by OKX, which recently secured its own Malta Payment Institution license to support products such as OKX Pay and the OKX Card. As stablecoin payments increasingly intersect with traditional financial rails, Payment Institution approvals are becoming essential for exchanges seeking to offer euro-denominated payment flows within the EU’s evolving regulatory framework.
