Google Adds AI Agent to Opal for Automated App Workflows
-

Google is expanding its vibe-coding app Opal with a new AI agent designed to create automated workflows using simple text prompts. Powered by the Gemini 3 Flash model, the feature allows users to build mini-apps that can independently plan and execute tasks — automatically selecting the necessary tools along the way.
For example, the agent can connect with Google Sheets to store memory across sessions, such as maintaining a dynamic shopping list inside an e-commerce app. Google says the agents are natively interactive, meaning they can ask users follow-up questions or present choices when additional input is needed. The company claims this update enables even non-technical users to build complex, multi-step workflows without writing a single line of code.
