Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Leads January’s Best-Selling Games
-

On the software front, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 claimed the top spot as January 2026’s best-selling premium game in the US. Despite mixed critical reception, the title has maintained strong commercial momentum since its November launch.
Sports titles dominated much of the top rankings, including NBA 2K26 at No. 2 and Madden NFL 26 at No. 3. Other notable performers included Battlefield 6, which dropped to No. 5 after being 2025’s best-selling game overall.
Older titles continued to show remarkable staying power. Minecraft climbed to No. 4, while Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both moved up the rankings. Meanwhile, new ports helped Final Fantasy VII Remake surge dramatically into the top 10.
The January data suggests that while new hardware competition is intensifying, established platforms and blockbuster franchises continue to dominate US gaming sales.
