Reddit Tests AI Shopping Search With Community Picks
-

Reddit is testing a new AI-powered search feature that blends community recommendations with direct shopping options. A small group of U.S. users will begin seeing interactive product carousels in search results, complete with pricing, images, and links to buy from Reddit’s advertising and retail partners.
When users search for terms like “best noise-canceling headphones” or “gift ideas for a college student,” they’ll see products pulled directly from discussions in posts and comments. Tapping a product reveals more details and a link to the retailer’s site. The move builds on Reddit’s broader e-commerce strategy, including last year’s launch of Dynamic Product Ads, and signals a push to turn trusted community conversations into seamless shopping experiences.
