With its newly granted VASP license, Animoca Brands is strengthening its institutional footprint in Dubai. According to Omar Elassar, Managing Director for the Middle East, the approval enhances the company’s ability to collaborate with Web3 foundations and global institutional investors within a regulated environment.
Animoca is best known for supporting major blockchain ecosystems such as The Sandbox, Open Campus, and Moca Network. The firm reports investments in more than 600 Web3 companies and digital-asset initiatives.
Earlier this year, Animoca also acquired gaming and digital collectibles company Somo, further expanding its blockchain-based portfolio.
