Binance Responds as Crypto-Linked Physical Attacks Rise
-

Binance confirmed the break-in attempt involving one of its employees, stating that the safety of staff and their families remains a top priority. In a statement, the company said it is working closely with French authorities and reviewing security measures. Yi He, Binance’s co-founder and chief customer service officer, expressed gratitude for the swift response of France’s elite police unit, the Brigade de Répression du Banditisme.
The incident comes amid a broader rise in physical attacks targeting cryptocurrency figures. Known as “wrench attacks,” these crimes involve criminals using threats or violence to force victims to hand over digital assets or access credentials. As the crypto industry grows, security concerns are increasingly extending beyond online threats into the physical world.
