One month after rolling out mandatory facial age verification, Roblox says 45% of its daily active users have already completed the process.

The move came amid mounting lawsuits over child safety and concerns around grooming and explicit content. Users must scan their face through the Roblox app, with verification handled by a third party and images deleted afterward.
Once verified, users are placed into age-based chat groups that limit who they can communicate with.

Early data shows what many expected: Roblox’s actual user base is younger than self-reported, with over a third of verified users under 13.
