Valve Delays Pricing Reveal for Steam Machine, Confirms 2026 Launch Window
-

Valve has shared a progress update on its upcoming Steam-branded hardware, confirming delays in announcing pricing and release dates—but reassuring fans that the devices remain on track for launch.
In a statement released on February 4, Valve said it had originally planned to reveal pricing and schedules for the Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and Steam Frame VR headset by now. However, worsening global hardware shortages forced the company to pause those announcements.
Despite the setback, Valve reiterated that all three devices are still expected to ship within the first half of 2026, in line with its original promise. The company noted it still has “work to do” to finalize pricing and timelines, particularly for the Steam Machine and Steam Frame, due to ongoing market volatility.
The update follows Valve’s November 2025 confirmation that long-running rumors about new Steam hardware were real—sparking major excitement across the PC gaming community.
