Majority of Crypto Press Releases Linked to High-Risk Projects, Report Finds
-

More than 60% of crypto press releases published between June and November 2025 came from projects flagged as high risk or outright scams, according to a new report from crypto communications firm Chainstory. The analysis reviewed nearly 2,900 press releases and assessed issuers based on risk signals, tone, and substance.
Chainstory found that 62.5% of releases were tied to high-risk activity, with product updates and exchange listing announcements accounting for nearly three-quarters of the total. Common red flags included unrealistic yield claims and duplicated or low-quality websites.
The findings suggest that press release volume in crypto may reflect risk exposure rather than credibility.
