Apple focuses on transparency and control in agentic coding rollout

Apple emphasized developer transparency and control in Xcode’s agentic coding experience. As an AI agent works, it breaks tasks into visible steps, highlights code changes, and documents its reasoning in a project transcript, helping developers understand what’s happening behind the scenes.

Developers can select AI models through a dropdown menu, connect provider accounts with API keys, and issue commands using natural language prompts. Xcode also creates automatic milestones, allowing developers to revert changes at any time.

Apple believes this visibility will benefit newer developers in particular and is hosting a live code-along workshop to demonstrate agentic coding in real time.
