Polymarket to open NYC’s first free grocery store amid marketing blitz

Polymarket announced it has signed a lease to open what it calls “New York’s first free grocery store,” launching next Thursday at noon. The company also pledged $1 million to Food Bank for NYC to support food access across all five boroughs.

Branded “The Polymarket,” the store has been in development for months and will be fully stocked at launch, the company said. The move follows an aggressive marketing push, including a recent partnership with Dow Jones and high-profile billboard campaigns.

Both Polymarket and Kalshi are headquartered in New York City, the world’s financial capital, where competition between the two prediction market giants is increasingly playing out in public.
