Activision Targets Cronus and XIM Devices Ahead of Black Ops 7 Season 2
-

Cheating devices are firmly in Activision’s crosshairs as Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 2 prepare to launch. The latest RICOCHET Anti-Cheat update introduces new server-side and client-side tools specifically designed to identify and neutralize Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix hardware.Rather than just flagging suspicious behavior, the system will now block these devices outright, preventing them from functioning during matches. On Windows PCs, added cloud-based verification through Azure Attestation strengthens cheat detection by confirming system authenticity in real time.
Activision says most players won’t need to take any action, but the update signals a more aggressive, hardware-level approach to protecting competitive integrity as Season 2 content rolls out.
