Firefox Will Let Users Block All AI Features Starting This Month
-

Mozilla announced Monday that Firefox users will soon be able to block all generative AI features in the browser, marking a notable shift toward user control as AI becomes more deeply embedded in web tools.
Beginning with Firefox 148, rolling out on February 24, users will see a new AI controls section in desktop settings. A single “Block AI enhancements” toggle will disable all current and future AI features, removing prompts, pop-ups, and reminders entirely.
Users can also selectively enable or disable individual tools, including translations, AI-powered tab grouping, PDF alt text, link previews, and Firefox’s sidebar chatbot, which supports services like ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, and Mistral.
