Sony May Be Preparing a New PS5 Reward System After PlayStation Stars
-

As PlayStation Stars heads toward shutdown, Sony may already be laying the groundwork for a replacement — and the clue isn’t coming from a leak or rumor mill. Instead, it’s hidden in plain sight on the PlayStation Store.
PlayStation Stars, which launched as a loyalty program tied to the PlayStation app, allowed players to earn points through purchases, trophies, and challenges. Those points could be redeemed for games, digital collectibles, or — most notably — PlayStation Store wallet funds. The service stopped allowing players to earn new points in July 2025 and will fully shut down on November 2, 2026.
Now, a newly discovered PlayStation Store page hints that wallet credits may not be gone for long. The listing references “wallet credit,” is marked as “announced,” and can even be added to wishlists — suggesting Sony is actively testing or preparing something new behind the scenes.

adding wallet credits to wishlists is a subtle but clever hint… could be their way of keeping users engaged post-stars.
