Exposed Binance Credentials Linked to Malware, Not System Breach
-

Security experts emphasized that the exposed Binance-related credentials do not indicate a breach of the exchange’s internal systems. Instead, the data was harvested through “infostealer” malware that quietly collects saved login details from compromised personal devices.
Binance confirmed that the credentials were not leaked from its infrastructure, noting that infostealers target end users rather than platforms. Blockchain security firm Cyvers echoed this view, describing the incident as a device-level compromise rather than an exchange hack.
To mitigate risks, Binance monitors dark web marketplaces, alerts affected users, resets passwords and revokes compromised sessions, while urging users to adopt strong security practices.
