Infostealer Malware Emerges as Major Risk for Crypto Users

Infostealer malware is emerging as a growing threat to crypto investors, with attackers disguising malicious software as game mods or cheats to infect personal devices. Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky reported that newer variants can steal credentials, drain wallets and even install crypto miners without users’ knowledge.

The malware targets more than 100 browsers and at least 80 crypto platforms, including major exchanges and popular wallet providers. Some variants specifically impersonate gaming-related downloads, such as Roblox mods, to lure victims.

Researchers advise users to run reliable antivirus software, keep operating systems updated and avoid downloading unverified software to reduce the risk of credential theft.
