OCC Rejects Warren’s Request to Pause World Liberty Financial Bank Charter Review
-

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has denied U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren’s call to halt the review of World Liberty Financial’s application for a national trust bank charter. Warren had requested a pause until President Donald Trump divested his stake in the crypto platform.
OCC official Jonathan Gould emphasized that the application will be evaluated under existing regulatory standards, stating the review will remain apolitical and nonpartisan. WLF’s submission, which aims to expand its crypto operations and manage its USD1 stablecoin in-house, will undergo the same rigorous scrutiny as other charter applicants.
