Humans& Raises $480M to Build AI for Team Collaboration
-

A new AI startup, Humans&, founded by alumni of Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, xAI, and DeepMind, just raised $480 million in a seed round to tackle one of the next frontiers of AI: social intelligence and collaboration.
While current chatbots excel at answering questions or summarizing documents for individual users, Humans& aims to create a model that helps teams coordinate, track long-term decisions, and work together effectively. Co-founder Eric Zelikman explained that the company is building both the model and the collaboration layer, designing it to understand people, workflows, and multi-agent interactions.
The startup’s approach includes long-horizon and multi-agent reinforcement learning to enable AI to plan and collaborate over time, not just provide one-off answers. Humans& sees this as a new “connective tissue” for organizations, bridging gaps that current tools like Slack or Notion don’t address.
