Todoist’s Voice-to-Task AI Shows Strong Early Adoption
-

Todoist’s new voice-based task creation feature, Ramble, is showing strong early traction following extensive beta testing.
Built on large language models as part of Todoist Assist, Ramble runs on Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Live via Vertex AI, enabling real-time speech transcription and task extraction. Doist says user audio is not stored or used for AI training, and the app is SOC2 Type II certified.
During beta testing with roughly 150,000 experimental users, more than 76,000 testers completed around 290,000 Ramble sessions within three weeks. Task creation success improved from about 40% in October to roughly 62% by December.
Doist says the feature also drove upgrades, with new users converting to paid plans at significantly higher rates after using Ramble. Unlimited access is available on Pro and Business plans, while free users get limited monthly sessions.
