NYSE Plans 24/7 Trading With Tokenized Stocks and ETFs
-

The New York Stock Exchange is developing a new platform to trade tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds as part of a broader push to modernize market infrastructure. Announced alongside its parent company Intercontinental Exchange, the platform would support 24/7 trading and instant settlement by combining NYSE’s Pillar matching engine with blockchain-based post-trade systems.
If approved by regulators, the platform would underpin a new NYSE venue for digital versions of traditional securities. Trades could be funded and settled in real time using stablecoins, replacing the current one-day settlement cycle used in US equity markets and opening the door to continuous global access.
