Bitcoin Hashrate Slips Below 1 Zetahash for the First Time in Months
-

The Bitcoin network’s hashrate has fallen below 1,000 exahash per second (EH/s) for the first time since mid-September, dropping to 993 EH/s on a seven-day moving average. That marks a nearly 15% decline from its October peak of 1,157 EH/s, signaling a notable shift in mining activity even as the network continues to operate normally.
This pullback comes despite conditions that should, in theory, support miners. Bitcoin mining difficulty has fallen four times since November, making blocks easier to find, while hashprice has climbed from roughly $37 to $40 per petahash per second per day. The disconnect suggests forces beyond protocol mechanics are reshaping how and where mining power is deployed.

hashrate dropping while hashprice goes up is kinda weird ngl
