How Does This Fit Into State Street’s Broader Crypto Strategy?
-

State Street manages roughly $5.4 trillion in assets and has been steadily expanding its digital asset ambitions over the past few years, with momentum accelerating in 2025. In December, the firm partnered with Galaxy Asset Management and Ondo Finance to launch a tokenized fund on the Solana blockchain, designed to enable 24/7 onchain liquidity for cash sweep balances.
Industry observers believe timing matters. Crypto banking group Sygnum has projected that tokenization will go mainstream in 2026 as regulatory clarity improves, particularly in the United States. State Street’s platform positions the bank to be a central player as traditional finance and blockchain infrastructure increasingly converge.
