The most eye-catching part of the rumor is the claim that a new 3D Super Mario game could be revealed. While fans are hungry for a mainline Mario entry, this part of the leak is more questionable, as Nintendo’s core 3D Mario team has only recently wrapped work on a major Switch 2 launch title.

More realistic candidates for a February Direct include third-party releases and near-term launches, such as Resident Evil 7, Yakuza Kiwami 3, and other titles scheduled for late February. Whether or not February 10 is the exact date, a Nintendo Direct early in 2026 feels increasingly inevitable.
