The return of the free login campaign comes after a turbulent period for Final Fantasy XIV. Since late 2025, the game’s North American data centers have been hit by repeated DDoS attacks, which intensified following the launch of the Arcadion’s final Savage raid tier in early January.

These disruptions caused widespread disconnects and negatively impacted raid progression, with some groups losing hard-earned clears due to sudden outages. While the attacks largely subsided after several teams completed the Heavyweight Savage raids, the issues left a mark on what should have been a celebratory endgame moment.
