What’s Actually New About the Purple and Green Joy-Cons

Officially named Light Purple and Light Green, the new Joy-Cons launch on February 12, 2026, priced at $99.99, and are already available for preorder through Nintendo. They include the same black wrist straps as the standard Switch 2 controllers.

Design-wise, the changes are minimal. The Joy-Cons remain mostly matte black, with color applied only to the thumbstick base and the rail connector. Functionally, they’re identical to the original Switch 2 Joy-Cons, featuring HD Rumble, motion controls, mouse functionality, and the C Button for GameChat access.
