Trump Rules Out a Pardon for Sam Bankman-Fried
-

Donald Trump has made it clear that Sam “SBF” Bankman-Fried will not be receiving presidential clemency. In an interview with The New York Times, Trump said he has no intention of pardoning the former CEO of FTX, who is currently serving a 25-year federal prison sentence for his role in the exchange’s collapse.
Bankman-Fried has been incarcerated since August 2023, after a judge revoked his bail ahead of trial. He was formally sentenced in March 2024 after being convicted on seven felony counts tied to the misuse of customer funds, marking one of the most severe criminal outcomes in crypto industry history.
