Cyberpunk 2077’s Story Lead Defends the Short Prologue
-

Five years after launch, Cyberpunk 2077 is still sparking debate—this time over its opening act. Creative Director Igor Sarzyński recently pushed back against claims that the game’s first act should have been longer, arguing that it was always designed to be brief and focused.
According to Sarzyński, extending the prologue would have diluted the story’s momentum. He explained that the Arasaka heist serves as the narrative’s true ignition point, and anything before it needed to move efficiently rather than risk becoming unfocused or repetitive.
