Amazon Brings Alexa+ to the Web to Compete With AI Chatbots
-

Amazon is expanding its AI assistant, Alexa+, beyond smart speakers with the launch of Alexa.com. Announced at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the new website allows Early Access users to interact with Alexa+ directly on the web, similar to how people use AI chatbots like ChatGPT or Gemini.
Amazon says the move is essential for keeping Alexa competitive in the AI era. While Alexa-powered devices already number in the hundreds of millions globally, the company believes its assistant needs to be available everywhere—not just in the home, but also on phones and browsers—to remain relevant and accessible.
