DoorDash appears to have confirmed a viral claim that a driver used an AI-generated image to falsely mark an order as delivered. The incident surfaced after Austin resident Byrne Hobart shared screenshots on X showing a fabricated photo of a DoorDash order supposedly left at his front door — despite no delivery actually taking place.

As the post gained traction, Hobart acknowledged that the scenario might sound implausible, but noted that another Austin-based user reported an identical experience involving the same driver display name. The similarity between cases strengthened suspicions that the incident was not isolated, but part of a repeatable abuse pattern.
