Onchain analytics firm Nansen ranked Solana, BNB Chain, Base, Tron, and NEAR Protocol as the most active blockchains of 2025. Solana dominated with 23.01 billion transactions, far ahead of BNB Chain’s 3.89 billion and Base’s 3.29 billion, while Tron and NEAR followed closely behind.

Despite growing institutional participation across crypto markets, transaction volume in 2025 was still driven primarily by retail activity.
