An attacker has quietly drained funds from hundreds of crypto wallets across Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)–compatible blockchains, stealing small amounts from each victim. Onchain investigator ZachXBT described the incident as a wide but low-value exploit, with individual losses capped at under $2,000 per wallet. While the sums were modest, the scale of affected wallets suggests a coordinated and automated attack rather than isolated incidents.

Security researchers believe the exploit may have relied on phishing or malicious smart contract approvals, allowing the attacker to siphon funds without triggering immediate alarms. Cybersecurity firm Hackless warned users to revoke unnecessary approvals and closely monitor wallet activity, highlighting how even small, unnoticed transactions can add up to significant losses when exploited at scale.
