Bitcoin and Ether ETFs See Heavy December Outflows
-

While XRP ETFs attracted consistent inflows, US spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs struggled throughout December. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded more than $1.1 billion in net outflows for the month, with the largest single-day withdrawal of $357.7 million occurring on December 15. Selling pressure persisted through the latter half of the month, outweighing occasional inflow days.
Spot Ether ETFs followed a similar trend, shedding approximately $612 million in December. Their sharpest outflow came on December 15, when investors pulled $224.8 million in one session. Analysts suggest the declines reflect market volatility and year-end portfolio repositioning rather than a fundamental shift away from crypto exposure.
