NFT Sales Slow as Buyers and Sellers Retreat in December
-

The NFT market’s December slump coincides with a sharp drop in participation. Unique buyers fell from 204,032 in late November to 184,302 in the first week of December, continuing down to 135,120 by the third week, according to CryptoSlam.
Sellers followed suit, with unique sellers dropping 35.6% over the same period — the first time since April 2021 that the number fell below 100,000. Total NFT transactions also weakened, declining to 800,000 in the third week of December.
These figures highlight the market’s struggle to maintain engagement, even as certain sectors explore utility and cultural use cases.
