Zoox told the NHTSA that some of its autonomous vehicles made maneuvers that, while typical for human drivers, didn’t meet the company’s standards. Examples included wide turns and temporary stops in opposing lanes or crosswalks. The issue, first observed on August 26, led to 62 similar events tracked through December 5. Zoox emphasized transparency and safety, stating the recall reflects ongoing efforts to refine its self-driving system after previous software recalls this year.
