FCC Bans New Foreign-Made Drones From US Market Over Security Concerns
-

The Trump administration’s Federal Communications Commission has banned all new foreign-made drone models from being distributed in the United States, citing national security risks. The decision does not affect drones already owned by Americans, which can continue operating legally.According to the FCC, drones could be exploited by criminals, hostile foreign actors, or terrorists, prompting the agency to expand its “Covered List” to include all foreign-produced drones and critical components. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said the move aligns with President Trump’s push to strengthen domestic drone manufacturing and reduce reliance on foreign technology.
