$1 Billion HYPE Burn Proposal Nears Validator Vote
-

Hyperliquid is approaching a pivotal governance decision: a validator vote that could permanently remove nearly $1 billion worth of HYPE from circulation. The proposal would formally recognize tokens held by the Assistance Fund as burned, effectively reducing both circulating and total supply by over 10%.The Assistance Fund automatically converts trading fees into HYPE and stores the tokens in a system address without a private key, making them inaccessible without a hard fork. The vote concludes on December 24, potentially reshaping the token’s market dynamics.
Analysts note that this move aligns with Hyperliquid’s history of protocol-driven economics and a lean operational model.
