The new law establishes a clear regulatory framework for crypto activities, giving the Bank of Ghana (BoG) the authority to license and supervise crypto asset service providers (CASPs). According to BoG Governor Johnson Asiama, this move ensures that crypto trading can operate safely while protecting consumers from fraud, money laundering, and systemic risks. For the first time, crypto traders in Ghana can operate legally without fear of arrest.
