Peripheral Labs Wants to Reinvent How Fans Watch Sports
-

Peripheral Labs, a Toronto-based startup founded by former autonomous driving engineers, believes immersive 3D video is the future of sports viewing. By adapting perception and vision systems used in self-driving cars, the team has reduced the camera count needed for volumetric capture from over 100 to just 32.
The platform doesn’t just change how fans watch — it also delivers detailed biomechanical data, tracking player movements down to joints and flexion. Backed by a $3.6 million seed round led by Khosla Ventures, Peripheral Labs is now in talks with North American leagues to bring next-gen sports viewing to stadiums and screens alike.
