Poland Fails to Override Presidential Veto, Stalling Crypto Regulation Efforts

Poland’s lower house has failed to gather the three-fifths majority needed to overturn President Karol Nawrocki’s veto of the Crypto-Asset Market Act, effectively halting the country’s latest attempt to regulate digital assets.
The bill, backed by Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s government, aimed to bring Poland in line with the EU’s MiCA framework. Introduced in June, the legislation was blocked by Nawrocki last week, who argued it posed risks to citizens’ freedoms, property, and national stability.
With the veto upheld, Poland must now restart the entire crypto-lawmaking process — a setback for policymakers urging urgent regulatory oversight. -
