Ethereum Brushes Close to Finality Loss After Prysm Bug
-

Shortly after the Fusaka upgrade, Ethereum saw validator participation plunge as a Prysm v7.0.0 bug caused nodes to generate outdated states and stop functioning.
At epoch 411,448, the network hit only 75% sync and 74.7% voting participation — less than 9% away from losing finality.
Developers issued a temporary fix using the --disable-last-epoch-targets flag. Thankfully, participation has since rebounded to ~99%. -
Interesting how a single client bug can push Ethereum so close to finality issues.

Even with strong decentralization, unexpected bugs still expose network fragility.
