The Rise of “Educational” MEV Scams in Web3
-

A new wave of Web3 scams is exploiting ambition, not ignorance.
Scammers publish polished tutorials claiming to teach MEV or arbitrage bot deployment.
But the “bot” code is actually a self-executing smart contract designed to drain user funds.Victims deploy the contract themselves, fund it with ETH, watch fake “profits,” and only trigger the drain when they hit Start, Stop, or Withdraw.
More than $900K in crypto has already been stolen through this method. The attack works because everything looks legitimate — the tools, the steps, the interfaces, and even the contract verification.
