Perplexity Launches Comet AI Browser on Android
-

Perplexity has officially launched its Comet AI browser on Android, bringing its desktop AI-search experience to mobile. Users can set Perplexity as the default search engine, query the assistant across open tabs, use voice mode, and even ask the browser to research or shop on their behalf.
Comet also includes built-in ad blocking and upcoming features like a conversational agent, quick-action shortcuts, and a full password manager.
Android launched first due to high interest from OEMs and carriers—though Perplexity says an iOS version is on the way. The company already partnered with Motorola earlier this year, but hasn’t confirmed whether Comet will be preinstalled.
With AI browsers heating up across OpenAI, Opera, and Arc, the spotlight now shifts to how secure agent-driven browsing can truly be.
