Uber is piloting in-app video recording for drivers in 10 Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and more.

Purpose: Protect drivers against misconduct or false complaints from riders.

Video is double-encrypted and stored on-device.

Passengers are notified when recording is active.

Recordings auto-delete after a week unless shared in a safety report.

This builds on Uber’s in-app audio feature from 2023.
