MISERY Developer Pushes Back Against DMCA Takedown

The developer of MISERY, Maewing, has pushed back against GSC Game World’s DMCA strike that removed the game from Steam. Maewing argued that the game is entirely original, and warned against normalizing large studios using takedowns against smaller independent developers.

MISERY, a cooperative survival shooter released on October 23, 2025, was created primarily by Maewing at Platypus Entertainment. The developer asked fans to avoid review-bombing GSC Game World and to keep comments respectful while the legal dispute continues. As of now, MISERY remains unavailable on Steam.
