🚨 New Crypto Job Scam Drops Dangerous Malware — Stay Alert!
-
Hackers are getting smarter, and job seekers in the crypto space are the latest targets.Instead of sending sketchy PDFs or shady software links, these scammers pretend to be recruiters from major crypto firms like Gemini or Kraken and offer you dream jobs with salaries between $200K and $350K.
But there’s a nasty twist…
How the Scam Works:
You’re contacted via LinkedIn, Discord, Telegram, or even freelance platforms. A fake recruiter interviews you with professional, long-form crypto questions. You’re asked to record a video answer to a final question. But — surprise — your mic/cam “doesn’t work.” The scammer offers a “fix” involving browser settings and a fake Chrome update. 💀 Once you follow it… malware is installed, giving hackers backdoor access to your device — and possibly your crypto wallets.
🧠 Why It’s So Dangerous:
No sketchy files — just simple “browser troubleshooting.” Works across Mac, Windows, and Linux. Can drain your wallets, steal passwords, or plant spyware.
How to Stay Safe:
Be skeptical of too-good-to-be-true job offers — especially unsolicited ones. Never follow strange instructions to “fix mic/camera” issues during online interviews. Don’t install or “update” anything unless from official sources. If you think you were exposed: wipe your device immediately.
As blockchain sleuth @tayvano_ put it:
“If you follow their instructions, you are f***ed.”
Crypto is the future — don’t let scammers hijack yours.
Stay sharp. Stay skeptical. Stay safe.️

This is getting scary — job scams are no longer about fake interviews or phishing emails. Now they’re dropping full-blown malware disguised as “test tasks” or “PDF job offers.” In the crypto and Web3 space where wallets and private keys live on your device, one wrong click can literally drain your life savings.Everyone’s chasing opportunity, but the scammers are chasing you. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Big thanks to this post for raising awareness — this isn’t just a warning, it’s a shield.

We talk a lot about smart contracts and token security — but not enough about personal security. These malware-based job scams are evolving fast, and they’re hitting people where they feel most vulnerable: career desperation.Never download files from unknown recruiters. Never open .exe or macro-enabled documents from Telegram or Discord. And for the love of decentralization, don’t ever store your seed phrase in a text file. Appreciate this post — it might save someone’s wallet (or future).
