Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has kicked off the Payment Innovation Project (PIP), bringing top banks together to test stablecoin issuance on blockchain.
Participants include Mizuho, Mitsubishi UFJ, Sumitomo Mitsui, and more.
The experiment will examine legal compliance, operational readiness, and regulatory compatibility before any public rollout. -
Bank-backed stablecoins could finally bridge TradFi and Web3.
