Balancer Releases Preliminary Report After $116 Million DeFi Exploit
-

The team behind decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Balancer has published a preliminary post-mortem following Monday’s $116 million exploit that targeted its v2 Stable Pools and Composable Stable v5 Pools.
According to the report, attackers exploited a vulnerability in the upscale rounding function tied to EXACT_OUT swaps, using BatchSwaps and flashloans to drain funds. Other pool types were reportedly unaffected.
Balancer said many of the exploited funds remained in the protocol’s vaults before being withdrawn in later transactions.
