November 4, 2025 — Nintendo has reported strong first-half financial results for fiscal year 2026, driven by the massive success of the newly launched Nintendo Switch 2, which has sold 10.36 million units since release.Software sales for the console reached 20.62 million units, underscoring the platform’s strong start. Meanwhile, sales of the original Nintendo Switch declined 60% year-over-year to 1.89 million units, as players migrate to the next-generation device.
Nintendo’s earnings reached 1.099 billion Japanese yen, marking a 110.1% increase compared to the previous year. In response, the company raised its financial forecasts across all major categories, including net sales, operating profit, and profit per share.
Top-performing titles for the Switch 2 include:
Mario Kart World — 9.57 million units sold
Donkey Kong Bananza — 3.49 million units sold
For the original Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains the all-time leader with 69.56 million units sold, followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 48.62 million units.
Nintendo also shared an updated release schedule for its upcoming lineup:
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment — Nov. 6, 2025
Kirby Air Riders — Nov. 20, 2025
